How to play Marble Trail

Marble Trail is a free building game for children ages 2 to 9. It opens right in the browser, with nothing to install, no sign-up, no ads and no purchases.

Play Marble Trail (free)

Pick cards 1 at a time to join pieces into a marble run, then roll a marble down it at the end. The motion follows a set timing, so whatever you choose, the marble always rolls all the way to the goal.

Getting started

  1. Open itJust open it in the browser. Nothing to install and no account to create.
  2. Build or raceFrom "New" on the shelf, choose "Build" to make a track and roll it, or "Race" to race 4 marbles. A track you are still making is kept as "Go on".
  3. Pick cards, then rollPick 1 of the 6 cards that appear at the bottom (level, up, down, right, left, goal) and the track grows by one piece. When the goal card is picked, the marble rolls from the start.

What is on the screen

A three-dimensional track stretches out over classroom desks and chairs. The 6 cards line up at the bottom (on the right on a sideways screen). Each card shows its role by color and symbol, so no reading is needed. Races take place in a gym, on lanes with 4 marbles side by side. There is no flashing and no screen shaking.

What fingers do

Tapping cards is all it takes. Besides pieces such as slopes and curves, there are pieces that carry the marble upward, like an elevator or a balloon. "Undo one" goes back one step, and starting over completely needs a long press, so an accidental touch never erases the track. In a race, you choose the marble to cheer for before it rolls. There is no failing and no game over.
