Sun stroll — Little Play Square
What's on the screen
When the game opens the sky is at midday, with the sun high up. Below are the ground and a house, with a rooster on the left and an owl sitting on a tree stump on the right. There are no other buttons to press.
How to play
Press anywhere on the sky or the ground and the sun glides across to that spot, then follows the finger left and right. Moving it left brings morning; moving it right brings evening and then night, and the colors of the sky, the ground and the house follow along a moment behind. Near the left edge the rooster calls. Near the right edge the sun changes into the moon, stars come out one by one, a light comes on in the window of the house, and the owl wakes and calls. An animal that is awake calls when pressed; a sleeping one just gives a little hop. Letting go leaves the sky as it is: nothing moves on by itself, and there is no ending and no score.
This game sits in Games for ages 0 and 1. The age is only a guide, so children older than that and children younger than that are just as welcome to play it.
What this game doesn't have
- Time limits and scoresThere is no countdown, no score and no run of days in a row.
- Game overThere is no state that stops a child from going on. You can stop the moment interest runs out.
- Ads and purchasesNothing can be pressed by mistake that carries a child off to another site.
- Text fieldsNo name and no email address is ever asked for. There is no sign-up either.
How to start
Just open Little Play Square and pick the Sun stroll picture on the home screen. Once it has finished loading, it starts up the same way in places with no signal. Sound is switched with the speaker mark on the home screen (it steps through normal, off and quiet, so the first press turns it off).
More from Games for ages 0 and 1
- Gentle breeze — Swipe a finger across the screen and the wind blows the way it was swept: the dandelion seeds, the pinwheel and the little boat all move that way. A simple tap works too — the wind then blows from the side the finger is on. There is no ending and no score.
- Fingertip butterfly — Rest a finger on the screen and wait, and the butterfly flutters over, settles on your fingertip and slowly opens and closes its wings. Move the finger and it flutters away to rest on a flower. Nothing is counted, and there is no ending.
- Vehicles — Touch a car or a train and it sets off. There is no destination and no order; they can run as many times as you like.
