Bouncy ball — Little Play Square
What's on the screen
An orange ball bounces on a floor at the bottom of a sky-blue screen. There are no buttons; a tap anywhere on the screen counts.
How to play
When the game opens, the ball drops in, bounces a little and comes to rest on the floor. Tap anywhere and it leaps up, then keeps bouncing at the same steady pace. Tap just as it lands and it bounces higher than usual, with a big ring and a rising sound. A tap at another moment still brings a small ring and a sound. The pace never speeds up and nothing is counted. Left alone for a while, the ball bounces lower and comes to rest on the floor, and the sound stops.
This game sits in Games for 2-year-olds. The age is only a guide, so children older than that and children younger than that are just as welcome to play it.
What this game doesn't have
- Time limits and scoresThere is no countdown, no score and no run of days in a row.
- Game overThere is no state that stops a child from going on. You can stop the moment interest runs out.
- Ads and purchasesNothing can be pressed by mistake that carries a child off to another site.
- Text fieldsNo name and no email address is ever asked for. There is no sign-up either.
How to start
Just open Little Play Square and pick the Bouncy ball picture on the home screen. Once it has finished loading, it starts up the same way in places with no signal. Sound is switched with the speaker mark on the home screen (it steps through normal, off and quiet, so the first press turns it off).
More from Games for 2-year-olds
- Touch colors — Pick the color that matches the example. Pressing another color brings no scolding sound and no cross mark.
- Water the flowers — Press the pot and water falls; wait a little and it goes from sprout to bud to flower. Nothing ever withers.
- Ball throwing — Sweep a finger anywhere on the screen and the ball flies off in an arc, in that direction and with that strength. If it drops into the basket, confetti bursts up; if it does not, it bounces on the floor and rolls back to where it started.
