Washing hands — Little Play Square
What's on the screen
Two open hands, palms forward, sit in the middle with a tap above them. The hands are simple outline drawings with no colour filled in. There are no other buttons to press.
How to play
Rub anywhere on the screen and bubbles appear with a soft fizzing sound. Rubbing over the hands builds up bubbles on them, and once both hands are covered, a drop appears at the tap. Sweep down from the top and water flows, washing the bubbles away from the top down as the finger moves; then little stars appear and the hands give a small hop. A moment later the hands are bare again. Tapping alone, or just rubbing side to side, also gets all the way through, and there is no counting, no score and no ending.
This game sits in Games for ages 0 and 1. The age is only a guide, so children older than that and children younger than that are just as welcome to play it.
What this game doesn't have
- Time limits and scoresThere is no countdown, no score and no run of days in a row.
- Game overThere is no state that stops a child from going on. You can stop the moment interest runs out.
- Ads and purchasesNothing can be pressed by mistake that carries a child off to another site.
- Text fieldsNo name and no email address is ever asked for. There is no sign-up either.
How to start
Just open Little Play Square and pick the Washing hands picture on the home screen. Once it has finished loading, it starts up the same way in places with no signal. Sound is switched with the speaker mark on the home screen (it steps through normal, off and quiet, so the first press turns it off).
More from Games for ages 0 and 1
- Shine the light — The room is dark, and wherever a finger rests a round light switches on there. Three sleeping animals wake and call out when the light reaches them, and drift back to sleep once it moves away. The light never goes out, and nothing ever ends.
- Sun stroll — Press anywhere in the sky and the sun comes across to that spot; then it can be moved left and right. Toward the left the sky turns to morning and toward the right to night, the colors changing smoothly on the way, and a rooster calls in the morning and an owl at night. Letting go leaves the sky just as it is; it never moves on by itself.
- Gentle breeze — Swipe a finger across the screen and the wind blows the way it was swept: the dandelion seeds, the pinwheel and the little boat all move that way. A simple tap works too — the wind then blows from the side the finger is on. There is no ending and no score.
