Cutting board — Little Play Square
What's on the screen
A big carrot, cucumber or tomato sits on a cutting board, with a pot close by. There are no other buttons to press.
How to play
Drag a finger in one stroke across the vegetable and it splits in two along that line, in any direction; a simple tap makes it hop a little. Pieces that get small enough plop into the pot, and once they are all in, the pot bubbles with a puff of steam and bubbles before the next vegetable appears. Missing shows no sign of failure, and nothing ever ends.
This game sits in Games for 2-year-olds. The age is only a guide, so children older than that and children younger than that are just as welcome to play it.
What this game doesn't have
- Time limits and scoresThere is no countdown, no score and no run of days in a row.
- Game overThere is no state that stops a child from going on. You can stop the moment interest runs out.
- Ads and purchasesNothing can be pressed by mistake that carries a child off to another site.
- Text fieldsNo name and no email address is ever asked for. There is no sign-up either.
How to start
Just open Little Play Square and pick the Cutting board picture on the home screen. Once it has finished loading, it starts up the same way in places with no signal. Sound is switched with the speaker mark on the home screen (it steps through normal, off and quiet, so the first press turns it off).
More from Games for 2-year-olds
- Water break — Press the pitcher and pull it down, and water flows out as far as it is tipped and collects in the glass. Just pressing and letting go pours a little too. Press the glass and let go, and an animal comes over to drink it empty. Letting it overflow is never a mistake.
- Stack blocks — Carry the blocks anywhere you like and stack them, and tap the block stand for one more. There is no finished shape and no model, so you can stop wherever you please.
- Color blending — Lay a paint ball on another and let go, and they mix into one bigger ball of a different color. Press the mixed ball and it comes apart again, so any pair can be tried as often as you like. There is no right answer and no mistake.
