Before you start
- Turn the volume and the screen brightness down firstMusic or reading may start as soon as a game opens. Please have a grown-up set the volume low first. In a dark room, turning the screen brightness down too keeps it from being glaring.
- Pick one, then just listenThe picture books turn their own pages, and the music box stops after playing the song the number of times you chose. Nobody needs to keep pressing the screen.
- To stop partwayIn the picture books, the “…” at the top left lets you pause or go back to the bookshelf. In the music box, press the play button again to stop.
Each game at bedtime
-
Dappled Music Boxages 5 to 15
Make music box songs and play them. The tempo is slow (66 beats a minute), and the song repeats the number of times you chose, then gets quieter at the end and stops. The first screen has a sample song that plays as soon as you press it. The screen is brightly colored, so turn the brightness down before you use it.

How to play
Good to know
- The screen stays onWhile a picture book is reading and while the music box is playing, the game keeps the device from turning the screen off by itself. This ends when they finish.
- The reading voiceThe picture books use the device’s text-to-speech. On a device without a voice for that language, the pages move on without being read aloud.
