Mirror drawing — Little Play Square
What's on the screen
A white page with a thin dashed fold running down the middle. There are no buttons; you can draw anywhere on the page.
How to play
Draw on one side of the fold and the same line appears on the other side at the same moment, like a mirror. A single dot works too. Lift all your fingers and wait a moment: the picture folds shut along the fold, opens again, grows a body and flutters upward as a butterfly. The page turns blank at that moment, and the next picture comes in another color. While a finger stays pressed down, nothing flies off, and with several fingers every line is mirrored. There is no score and no model to copy, and nothing is saved.
This game sits in Games for 2-year-olds. The age is only a guide, so children older than that and children younger than that are just as welcome to play it.
What this game doesn't have
- Time limits and scoresThere is no countdown, no score and no run of days in a row.
- Game overThere is no state that stops a child from going on. You can stop the moment interest runs out.
- Ads and purchasesNothing can be pressed by mistake that carries a child off to another site.
- Text fieldsNo name and no email address is ever asked for. There is no sign-up either.
How to start
Just open Little Play Square and pick the Mirror drawing picture on the home screen. Once it has finished loading, it starts up the same way in places with no signal. Sound is switched with the speaker mark on the home screen (it steps through normal, off and quiet, so the first press turns it off).
More from Games for 2-year-olds
- Picture book — Swipe a picture page sideways and it turns, and a little story moves along: an egg, a chick coming out of the shell, the chick walking, and the chick meeting its mother. Touching the thing on each page makes it wobble, hop or walk, with a sound. There are no words, and after the last page the book starts again from the first.
- Ensemble — Tap one of the 3 animals on the stage and it plays a short tune once, then stops. Tap another while it is playing and its part joins in from the next beat, so the sounds stack up into a little band. Every mix fits, and there is no score and no celebration at the end.
- Bouncy ball — Tap anywhere on the screen and the ball answers with a ring and a sound. Tap just as it lands on the floor and it bounces higher than usual, with a big ring. A tap at another moment still brings a small ring and a sound, and there is no score and no speeding up.
